This Is Unbelievable. If Every Community Could Do This...

imagine if everyone spent one hour picking up trash. I was shocked at the amount they collected. Has anyone ever done something like this? I had to clean a schoolyard for punishment in grade 4.

On the first Sunday of March the whole of Australia has 'Clean up Australia day' an initiative where community groups all get together and clean up their local environments!

A really great concept, and If you go out about town in the following weeks, the difference is definitely noticable!

BAM!!!

Around here we have an 'Adopt A Highway' program.  Different organizations volunteer to pick up trash on various stretches of roads once every couple of weeks.

You can really tell a difference between roads that haven't been adopted and those that have.

we have the same adopt a highway thing Dharm but I've never seen anyone no wait! Once! Once I saw a couple with a garbage bag in the ditch of the highway. They must have been honoring that adoption. It's a good idea whose time should have come by now. Maybe people on welfare should be made to clean up the streets. And Mugz: the WHOLE of Australia? How many people live there anyways? A lot of trash would be picked up with a whole nation working on it. I picked up garbage on the way home yesterday for the hell of it. 6 cups, slurpee cups, pieces of ripped paper, even school work! Crud what a cesspool we live in.

Don't let Wise Fawn hear you say that!
